I’m Lauren Reading-Gloversmith, a qualified person-centred experiential counsellor (MBACP) and founder of Speak To Lauren. I offer online counselling for adults across the UK, creating a warm, supportive space where you can explore your experiences in your own way. I deeply respect your autonomy — you are the expert in your own life.
Many of the people I work with are neurodivergent or part of creative industries — or both. Being neurodivergent myself, I understand the unique ways this can shape your experience of the world, from sensory intensity to executive challenges, emotional depth, and creative energy. My work is informed by this lived perspective, alongside my professional training, so I can create a space that truly honours and affirms diverse ways of thinking, feeling, and being.
I also have first-hand experience working in the arts and music industries, which gives me insight into the pressures, unpredictability, and emotional demands of creative work. Whether you’re a performer, behind-the-scenes, or navigating emerging opportunities in this world, I understand the challenges of balancing creativity with wellbeing.
Alongside this lived and professional experience, I have counselling experience in arts and entertainment contexts, including supporting students and professionals navigating both neurodivergence and the pressures of creative industries. This combination — personal insight, industry experience, and professional training — shapes how I work and why I’m drawn to these communities.
At the heart of my practice is the therapeutic relationship — built on trust, collaboration, and genuine human respect. My aim is to offer a space that feels safe, non-judgmental, and authentic, where you can feel truly seen and heard.

Lewes Low Cost Counselling Service (November 2025 - Present)
I volunteer as a qualified counsellor with LLCCS, a charity providing affordable, high-quality counselling to adults in Lewes and the surrounding areas. Volunteering allows me to support individuals who might otherwise struggle to access therapy, while applying my skills to help clients navigate emotional challenges and improve their well-being.
Wellbeing in the Arts (April 2023 – Present)
I’m part of the qualified counsellor pool at Wellbeing in the Arts, a specialist service supporting mental health for people in creative industries. Drawing on my own arts experience and clinical training, I provide online counselling tailored to the unique pressures faced by creatives.
BIMM Brighton (September 2024 – July 2025)
At this leading creative arts university, I offered short-term, one-to-one counselling - both face-to-face and online - to students from music, screen and film, and performing arts programs. This role deepened my understanding of the pressures young artists face and enriched my experience supporting neurodivergent clients navigating academic and creative demands.
I work exclusively with adults across the UK, offering one-to-one online counselling tailored to your unique needs and experiences. This individual approach creates a safe, confidential space where you can address immediate challenges, explore your feelings, and support your ongoing journey of self-discovery and growth.
Person-Centred Experiential Counselling - insight and movement
I offer a collaborative, engaged form of person-centred counselling grounded in empathy, acceptance, and genuine understanding. While I won’t tell you what to do, I won’t simply sit back either as I take an active role in helping you explore what’s going on for you and what might need to change.
This can include gently challenging where it feels supportive, reflecting patterns, responding to your feedback, and sharing ideas or information when useful. Our work together can be both a space to feel deeply heard and a place to think about choices, direction, and next steps.
The experiential focus means we pay attention to your feelings as they arise in the moment, not just the story of what’s happened. Working in this way can bring clarity, deepen self-understanding, and support real, sustainable change.
Supporting Creatives & Arts/Entertainment Professionals
If you work in arts or entertainment, whether as a performer, writer, musician, technician, producer, agent, or in any other role, you may face pressures such as burnout, self-doubt, emotional intensity, or career unpredictability. I understand the demands of these industries and offer a space where your experiences are honoured, your challenges acknowledged, and your creativity valued.
Neurodivergent-Affirming Support
I work with many neurodivergent clients - whether autistic, ADHD, AuDHD, OCD, dyslexic, dyscalculic, dyspraxic, living with Tourette’s, or exploring whether these experiences resonate for them.
In our work together, neurodivergence is understood as part of the natural diversity of human minds. I aim to create a space where traits and differences are respected, not pathologised, and where your experiences can be explored without assumption or judgement.
I also recognise that being neurodivergent can bring real challenges - both in navigating a world that isn’t always accommodating and in living with aspects of yourself that may feel unpredictable, intense, or hard to manage. Therapy offers room for all of that: the strengths, the struggles, and the uncertainty.
Together, we’ll explore what it means for you - finding ways to support your wellbeing, creativity, and self-understanding in ways that feel authentic and sustainable.
"I had a really positive experience accessing counselling through Speak To Lauren. The process felt straightforward and supportive from the start. The sessions gave me a safe space to talk openly and helped me gain better clarity and coping tools. I’d definitely recommend Speak To Lauren to anyone considering counselling."
"Lauren is very understanding, listens attentively, shows that she cares, and is overall very empathetic in a way that helps one to validate their feelings and/or actions. I felt listened to and not judged. Discussing my feelings and where they potentially came from was of immense help for my own self-reflection and to feel more at peace within myself. It also helped me to pinpoint certain difficulties I was having in order to work on them."
"Thank you again for all the support and space you have given me over the last 6 months. It has honestly made a huge difference to me and my life. I feel like I know and understand myself in a whole new way."
